Double Your Bodybuilding Results

You can double your bodybuilding results with this new twist on supersets. It would be very convenient for many bodybuilders if there was a formula that could guarantee them faster success. The commercials always promise that the latest product off the lines is the ultimate answer. Apparently there is no end in sight for this misleading notion. What remains factual though is that the answer to most of our problems is often not too far away from where we are.

This point is specifically addressed to the bodybuilding fraternity; there is a proven way of ensuring faster muscle development and it is called super-setting. This is hardly a new concept but it has been sidelined for so long with most people oblivious of the benefits that may be accrued. There is a significant difference between the supersets technique and the conventional sets.

Conventional sets are usually performed by making a series of reps say 10-15 per set. This is followed by a brief period of rest before the next set is begun. For the supersets however it is the direct opposite. Two sets are done back to back with absolutely no rest period in between to maximize bodybuilding results. Supersets are therefore very intense and quite effective especially when you are running out of time. Before you jump onto the superset bandwagon you should realize that these are definitely not the best techniques for development of strength and power.

When you force the body to perform two continuous sets in back to back format you essentially take away the strength that is required for handling the training weight more so in the second movement. In actual fact what you are doing is that you are denying the body the ability to train with its maximum weight capacity to build muscle.

It is this fact that seasoned bodybuilders take cue from. They know that for freaky bodybuilding results they hardly do supersets. Instead they stick to the conventional sets and allow themselves to be adequately rested before taking on the next set. This recuperation period that lasts between 3-5 minutes is absolutely vital as it allows the body to replenish its strength. If insufficient rest time is allowed there may simply be no strength to support the training.

While this information had to be passed, (it's perfectly professional to report the facts as they are), not much can be taken away from supersets though. They do come with their own advantages. First of all they help you conserve time. Nobody would turn down the opportunity to make a big gain in a small time once in a while. Supersets can help you in the effort of achieving your goals in a shorter time if used occasionally. They help inject intensity to the training program.

The best way to put this is that if a big workload is achieved in a short time intensity is infused into the training regimen. Intensity will definitely lead to more muscle. Last but not least superset workouts will afford you the advantage of training around injury. In some instances the bodybuilder may be injured and in the recuperation period he/she will be unable to handle heavy weight. Supersets and higher reps then come in to intensify the training effort without the need for heavy weights.
